Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip: Part 2

Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip: Part 2
Jul 27. 2007

The next day everyone slowly arrived from all over the US. The event was attended by about 17 people. I had a great time seeing some of my Myspace friends that I had already met on other occasions and meeting some Myspace friends for the first time.

Everyone was so excited to be in Bardstown and were looking forward to the main event of the trip. This would happen on Tuesday, July 17th in which our group would investigate the Talbott Tavern. The event was webcast live on the Internet by this site: Paranormal Underworld Here is the banner announcing the event:

Well the investigation started promptly at 7:00 PM. The event took place in the meeting room of the tavern on the second floor. The main host of this event,” Patti Starr”, started out by telling everyone that the tavern is haunted by the Ghost of Jessie James and the spirit of a little girl.

Patti used to be the manager of the Talbott tavern in her single days. Here is a newspaper article about her early days as manager of this tavern. Newspaper Article In this newspaper article, it states that Patti captured an EVP of a women welcoming people to the tavern and she believes it was the voice of Ms. Talbott. For those of you who are not familiar with EVP’s, it stands for Electronic Voice Phenomenon. Evp’s are based on the belief that tape recorders capture voices of spirits that are normally not heard by human ears. Other web pages have stories that will back up the allegation that this tavern is haunted by the late Ms.Talbott which is always seen wearing a white dress. Check out the third story on this site: Ghost Story

Patti then talked about one of the doors of the room we were in. It was a door that was really hard for people to open without pulling on it extra hard. I even tested the door to see if she was right. Normally I am extra strong because I lift weights as part of my fitness routine. I had a real hard time opening this door. She said that she has had other Ghost investigations in the same room in which the door had opened by itself after mentioning Jessie Jackson’s name. She then talked about the two sets of chandeliers in the room. She explained that during other ghost investigations in the same room, the lights have gotten dimmer and had even been turned off upon requesting that the spirits do this.

Patti then also showed everyone a box of crayons that she brought with her and set the crayons out in a playful pattern on one of the tables. She also put the crayon box in a upright position on the table. She said, she hoped that would entice the spirit of the little girl to come out and play with us.

She then started to ask the little girl to reveal herself and play with the crayons. We all waited breathlessly with the cameras going. After a little while, to our surprise and disbelief, the crayon boxed moved back and forth. Susan Rushing, which was also a host of the show, spoke very kindly to the girl’s spirit. She thanked her for revealing herself and coming out to play with us. I thought she did a great job as I myself would not have had the slightest clue on how to respond to this event. Patti then asked the little girl to dim the chandelier lights. To our surprise, the lights got dimmer. She then asked the spirit to make them normal and the lights got back to normal. The little girl delighted everyone by doing this several more times. She also moved the crayon box a few more times for us.

All of a sudden, one of the people that were handling the equipment for the live web cast came into the room. The webcast also included a feature where people whom were viewing the investigation from their homes could capture EVP’s and chat inside a chat room in real time. The person wanted to know whether a person has been screaming in the room we were in? We told her, that no one was screaming. The person informed us that the people in the chat room were reporting that they heard a woman screaming. I should note that no one else was in the hotel during this investigation.
